Back to Vermont at last!
A recent trip to Vermont once again brought adventure and peace. It was such a great time to escape the mental anguish of today's world and get back to our happy place.
This is the first installment, looking at the trip. I'll post more photos over the next few days.
On our way, we finally got to eat at this little restaurant in New York, the Man of Kent.
And just a bit away, shortly before getting to Vermont....
In the Green Mountain State, just on the edge of Bennington. People live here!
Across the street, the church where Robert Frost's grave is located. It's been years since I last visited here, and was longing for a return trip.
And it has magnificent views!
Between Quechee and Woodstock...
On the way to Middlebury -- Texas Falls!
In Middlebury, you have to stop at Woodchuck Cidery.
In Johnson, Vt.
One of our favorite places... Buggyman Antiques. If you're lucky, Mark will be singing!
Dog Head Falls, outside Johnson...
If you ever get a chance to check out Poor House Pies in Underhill, don't pass it up! You're on the honor system.
Yes, we bought one.
On another day, we ventured to the Northeast Kingdom... The Museum of Everyday Life was so cool.
On to Bread and Puppet Museum in Glover... You can't explain these places, just go. And remember to turn out the lights as you leave.
In Derby Line, the Haskell Free Library straddles the United States and Canada.
One foot in each country... no passport required.
More adventures to come...
