Happy Halloween!

This is a great holiday -- but the changes in recent years make me long for the "old days."

I remember when you carved some pumpkins, pulled your costume together from old stuff in the attic, grabbed an ancient mask and made the rounds for a bit of candy. If you were lucky enough to go to a Halloween party, so much the better.
I still love to get out the vintage  decorations and watch a few old flicks.
And of course there's some great music.
But now Halloween is getting so commercial. Soon it will be as bad as Christmas!
Yep, I'm an old fogey… but enjoy these scenes of Halloween!

Hit the trail!

Ah, autumn. I love to get out on the Perkiomen Trail throughout the year, but autumn is my favorite season by far for hitting the trail.
The scents that tickle your nose -- the fallen leaves, someone off in the distance with a fire burning -- the crisp air and the crunch under your feet. Those special hues of autumn can take your breath away.
And the trail opens up the opportunities to fill your senses, so brisk walks there are great for the body and soul.
Hike along!

Can't get enough of autumn!

We've had a lot of gorgeous days this autumn and today was no exception. Just glancing at this leaf on my porch step sent me out for a short hike.

Othercat was ready to head out for the stroll as well...

Such a pretty view down through the yard and our side field.

 Crunching through the yard…

A little visitor...

 Love that autumn sky!

Not all of our flowers have given up yet...

That is all, says Othercat, fresh from rolling in the dry leaves..
