Don't most events in our lives happen by chance? I hope to share with you the chance observations and experiences of my travels. And I offer a chance for you to comment as well. Add to that my fond affection for my late cat, Chance, who was afflicted with feline leukemia and died of cancer, and you will see why "chance" has a special meaning in my life. By chance, the adventure continues and can be shared...

Farewell, Sarah
“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”
--- Eskimo proverb
Sarah, you brightened so many lives while you were here.
Now shine brightly on us from the heavens.

try, try again
If you were planning to head out to the Lansdale Historical Society's community program tonight on the history of local firefighting -- DON'T.
It once again has been postponed. It originally was set for Feb. 9 and 11; the snow pushed it back to Feb. 16 and 25.
Now it is set for March 9 and 18. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate!
Call the society at 215-855-1872 for more information.

how can we wait, kate??
Oh, say we don't have to wait until April!!
Well, yes we do.
For what, you ask? For Kate Gosselin's new book, "I Just Want You to Know," scheduled for release in April.
According to the Associated Press, Christian book publisher Zondervan said the book features excerpts, prayers and memories from Gosselin's journal, offering readers a look at her life during the three years her family went from obscurity to fame on TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8."
And then to infamy???
Wow, what riveting reading this will be.
Oh, and Kate, LOVE the hair extensions!
You do know what sarcasm is, right Kate?
she needed notes?

it's an event!
No, these people aren't prepping for a party... they're scrambling to stock up before the blizzard of the millennium hits the area today.
Well, maybe not a blizzard, but definitely a "snow event."
What I want to know is, when did everything become an "event"?
We don't have snowstorms or rain storms or hail storms.
We have snow events, rain events and hail events.
Ever wonder why? It's not like we get an invitation, after all.

SIX MORE WEEKS!!!
In case you missed it, Punsxutawney Phil proclaimed the bad news this morning: SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER!!
Yes, just when you may have been hoping that the worst was past us, Phil dispelled all doubts.
Hey, did you really think we were getting off that easy?
But really, Groundhog Day is great. And watching this spectacle on PCN is a must see.
I've never been to the town on Groundhog Day, but I have been there to see Phil in his "spring digs" -- a portion of the town library complete with glass walls so you can see him.
The park boasts a huge wooden groundhog statute...
really, you must go. The town bears no resemblance to the famous movie, but it's a great trip nonetheless.
Now, back to the grand weather prediction.... Phil told us what we all expected anyway... so bundle up!
