Don't most events in our lives happen by chance? I hope to share with you the chance observations and experiences of my travels. And I offer a chance for you to comment as well. Add to that my fond affection for my late cat, Chance, who was afflicted with feline leukemia and died of cancer, and you will see why "chance" has a special meaning in my life. By chance, the adventure continues and can be shared...

No April showers ... April snow...
This should have come yesterday on April 1 -- what better joke than snow for that day?

Ready for more winter?
Yes, we all know by now that we should buckle up for six more weeks of winter.
Punxsutawney Phil was yanked from his abode on Gobbler's Knob and whispered into the Inner Circle's ears, saying he saw his shadow.
So he can retreat under ground while we shiver.
Since we really haven't had much real winter so far, maybe that's only fair.
But some of us were hoping that at least he would offer us some hope during what has been a lot of darks days since the November election.
But here we go. Good luck everyone. Maybe Phil will be wrong...
Here are a few shots from the PCN TV coverage that started at 6 a.m. Sorry that the quality may not be great... it was a little early and I wasn't there in person...
This guy looked dejected before the prediction was even made by Phil...
LOVE THESE GUYS!
AND THESE!!
Time for the prediction!!
And from our at-home collection of groundhog items, we wish you good health and good luck...

Welcome autumn!
Today is the official start of autumn! I am so happy!
This is my favorite season and after this long, hot, dry summer, I am hoping it brings cooler weather.
I want to wear sweaters, enjoy our fire pit and drink in the spicy aromas of autumn.
So welcome, autumn. Please stay around for a full run!
Some flowers are still holding forth.
Others are at the end of this year's glory...
And for mums, this IS their time...
But I can't wait for the leaves to change their colors...
And Othercat is looking forward to a glorious autumn!!

Rain at last!
We really need a full day of gentle rain, but at least it was good to finally get a few gulps!
The leaf photo was taken Tuesday morning after the storms; the clouds from Monday night speak for themselves....

Here's spring!
Here is what the sky looked like this morning from my bedroom, on this first day of spring.
Yes, it's a bit brisk today, but we're on the way to warmer temps.
And here are a few flowers in our yard that have braved the cooler weather thus far...
The photo below was from earlier this week, after a brief storm...
And I have to love Othercat, who always makes it a challenge to take photos of "his" flowers without him being in the shot...

Early spring??

So, Punxsutawney Phil has given us the word: an early spring -- NOT six more weeks of winter.
Believe him? We'll have to see.
But the gala at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney was as wild as ever! In case you missed it, here are a few shots, snapped during PCN TV's great coverage.
Oh, and Happy Groundhog Day from these two right here at home!
