A bit of winter at last...

Maybe the groundhog was correct. Maybe there will be six more weeks of winter.
I wasn't sure after the temps were in the 60s on Wednesday.
But Mother Nature finally gave us a bit of snow.
Here are a few shots from around the yard...

Awesome autumn

After Wednesday's rain and the stormy night that followed, today proved to be a wonderful time to capture some of autumn's beauty around my property….

On the car and through its window...

And then just a gorgeous stroll...

Snow, snow, snow!

As Bing Crosby and friends sang in "White Christmas" as they rode that speedy train to Vermont, "Snow, snow, snow, snow, SNOW!!"
These are just a few scenes from my home in Upper Salford today, but the snow certainly did blanket the area.
Enjoy!

Beloved Vermont hit by Irene

I love visiting Vermont, and it was with a heavy heart that I listened to and watched all of the reports on the destruction there by Hurricane Irene's wrath.
These Associated Press photos show some of that destruction. There was loss of life, loss of historic covered bridges, towns under water -- much worse than we had it here.
I know the people of Vermont pride themselves on helping each other and being resourceful. I wish them only the best.

Come on, Irene.... more storm photos

No, there isn't a lot of excitement in Upper Salford on a regular basis. But when there's a storm of the magnitude of Irene, you have to get out and about the next day.
I took lots of photos and tweeted them out with my iPhone, but here are some that my daughter snapped...

The first few photos show the destruction and mayhem on Old Sumneytown Pike near Long Mill Road in Upper Salford:

Now we move to Lower Salford, and the area near Freeman School Road:

Hope everyone made it through the storm safely... and you can still share your photos with The Reporter. Tweet to @lansreporter or email to citydesk@thereporteronline.com
