Hope you have your fastnachts so you can start your day off right! And I don't mean just any doughnuts, you must have fastnachts to mark Fastnacht Day.
Today is, of course, Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. And during Lent you are supposed to sacrifice something during those 40 days leading up to Good Friday and Easter.
But today -- Fastnacht Day, Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras Day -- most people are indulging in one form or another.
I'll limit my splurge to just one fastnacht ... how many will you be eating?
