HersheyPark Happy!!

Saturday was just an amazing day, weather-wise, and was made even more amazing by a trip to HersheyPark!
Thanks to free passes provided by my very good friend Lynn, we were able to bask in the beauty of this day -- and also go on several roller coasters, the whip, the Wild Mouse, Coal Cracker, Trailblazer and several other rides.

The view from the Kissing Tower is outstanding!

The Dry Gulch Railroad may be a bit hokey, but I still love it!

Enjoying the cool breeze on the monorail also gives you a great view of the park.

But the carousel is still my all-time favorite! I could just ride and ride and ride...

Happy Birthday!!

Today is a big day! It's Wednesday's first birthday -- at least the day assigned as her birth day. It's kind of hard to tell with foundlings and rescue cats.
But this little "darling" is officially marking her first year today, and as you see in the photo below, that can really wear you out!

So what else is there to do? Celebrate and cat nap!!

And maybe dream of that first day with us, so many months ago, when she wasn't even yet two months old!!

Souderton Area HS is history...

AUG. 15, IN THE AFTERNOON...

Well, that's all folks.
These photos, courtesy of S. Brown, show that there's really no need to drive down School Lane in Souderton anymore to say a last goodbye to the former Souderton Area High School.
She succumbed today to the wrecking ball, so to speak.
At least our memories will live on...

Almost gone...

Sad farewell to Souderton Area High School

This is one of my favorite photos of my parents, taken so very many years ago on the lawn of what was then Souderton High School. I am very glad that they are no longer here to see what has become of this grand old lady...

Everyone knows that the school was sold years ago, and the demolition has stretched throughout this summer. A few weeks ago, we went to pick up a few bricks and were actually able to go into the original structure and snap some photos.
Here are some of those shots, capturing a bit of her last days...

Aptly titled music, found on the old stage…

Poster on the floor in one of the rooms…
