Don't most events in our lives happen by chance? I hope to share with you the chance observations and experiences of my travels. And I offer a chance for you to comment as well. Add to that my fond affection for my late cat, Chance, who was afflicted with feline leukemia and died of cancer, and you will see why "chance" has a special meaning in my life. By chance, the adventure continues and can be shared...

August scenes...
Rain, humidity, heat -- that's been the theme for August so far.

August already?
If I were a kid, I'd probably be angry that somehow it's August. I'd know that it soon would be time to head back to school; that summer had somehow flown by so quickly.
But I'm no kid and I'm not complaining that I flipped another page on the calendar this morning.
For me, it just means we're getting closer to autumn, my favorite time of year.
But here are a few summer photos as we start a new month...

A last look at Vermont
Here's my final salute to Vermont from my recent trip there.
Sigh.
Of course we had to stop at Ben & Jerry's!
And when in Waterbury, you have to check out Prohibition Pig. Look at this mac and cheese!
On our last day there earlier in May, they finally opened the road over Smugglers' Notch. It is closed from autumn to spring, because they can't plow at the top where the very narrow one-lane road snakes among the huge boulders. So we were excited to hit the road and cross that mountain.
On the mountain road... Don't be fooled; the water is crystal clear.
So happy the road reopened...
And then on to Rock Art Brewery in Morrisville...
Last day in Stowe...
Such a great time, but vacations are always too short! Maybe I'll be lucky enough to visit again.
