Don't most events in our lives happen by chance? I hope to share with you the chance observations and experiences of my travels. And I offer a chance for you to comment as well. Add to that my fond affection for my late cat, Chance, who was afflicted with feline leukemia and died of cancer, and you will see why "chance" has a special meaning in my life. By chance, the adventure continues and can be shared...

Hersheypark, end of season
This weekend was the last hurrah for Hersheypark -- for the "official" season, that is. And thanks to my friend Lynn, free passes got us in for one last fun day this year. I thought perhaps the park would be a bit less full -- wrong! It was packed and lines were LONG!! But we had fun anyway.
We even got to try a new ride, Laff Trakk, but the almost two-hour wait was ridiculous!! The ride was terrific once we finally got there, and there were a few diversions -- see below -- while you waited in line, but they need to fill the cars each time and get that line moving. The wait was just unreal!!
Once night descended, it was a beautiful scene. A fitting end to an autumn day...

Welcome autumn!
It's officially autumn, my favorite time of year!! Please let it be cool and crisp -- and let the air be filled with the aroma of burning leaves, pine needles and roasting marshmallows.
Whether rolling or strolling, Othercat is loving these beautiful days...
A final daisy holds onto the hope of summer...
But it's time for mums!
An all-black wooly bear caterpillar -- good or bad omen??
Autumn stroll...

Ich liebe Deutschland! (I love Germany!)
I've been back from a two-week vacation in Germany for almost a week now, so it's time to start sharing some photos. According to my trusty iPhone, I took more than 1,600 photos while I was there, but relax, I won't bore you with all of them.
I'm starting today with about two dozen, to give you a taste of the wonderful time I had while I was there.
I had never been to Germany, and it's been a long time since I've used my high school German, but I brushed up a little online and my good friend who urged me to join him on vacation taught German (and math), so I wasn't worried.
I hope you enjoy these photos, and I'll share a few more during the next week or so.
Taxiing away from Philadelphia International… All I could think of was that "Twilight Zone" episode!
We based out of Cologne -- Köln, in German -- and The Rhein is ever-present and beautiful.
But the Köln Dom, the cathedral, is breathtaking!
Fountains seem to be everywhere...
And we explored MANY churches...
We also went to Bonn, where Beethoven is ever-present...
And the university is amazing...
We also ventured to Düsseldorf, another amazing spot...
The charm of these towns is so striking...
Köln boasts its own lock bridge, where those in love display their affection through these locks.
Köln and the Dom at night...
Hope you enjoyed these… that's it -- until next time!!
