Head to Harleysville

It's that time of year again... COUNTRY FAIR DAYS!
This has been a staple of the community for ages, and it's always fun to walk the grounds, buy a funnel cake and at least do some people watching.
Even with the threat of rain on Thursday, we headed out to the fair.

The skies were dark and a bit threatening, but that didn't seem to dampen the spirits of those who braved the iffy weather. And because of the rain earlier in the evening, the crowds were thin and that meant the kids didn't have to stand in long lines to play games or take a spin on the amusements.

Watching the kids took me back to the days when our daughter was just a little tyke and Country Fair Days was a highlight of the summer for her. And of course on more than one occasion, a goldfish found its way to our home from the fair.

So if you haven't made it out to the fair yet, you still have Friday and Saturday. And don't forget the Country Fair Days Parade on Saturday morning! Head out and support this great community event!

CATS JOIN MONOPOLY!

YES! CATS DO RULE!!
Or, at least cat-lovers do.
Monopoly has chosen a CAT for the new game piece, tossing the iron out the window.
The cat token is shown in the AP photo
Don't complain if you didn't vote for the new game piece. I voted, but didn't hold out much hope for my choice of the cat. After all, a robot, helicopter, guitar and diamond ring were among the other contenders.
The cat joins the Scottie dog, shoe, top hat, thimble, wheelbarrow, battleship and race car in the game that was created by Charles Darrow and centered around Atlantic City streets. I bet the cat will easily trounce most of these lame tokens ... just wait and see.
Only bad thing is that I guess now I have to buy a new Monopoly game -- it would be better if we could just buy the tokens!
Hey, bring on the game! This kitty is ready to roar!
