Don't most events in our lives happen by chance? I hope to share with you the chance observations and experiences of my travels. And I offer a chance for you to comment as well. Add to that my fond affection for my late cat, Chance, who was afflicted with feline leukemia and died of cancer, and you will see why "chance" has a special meaning in my life. By chance, the adventure continues and can be shared...

Snow, snow go away...
Yep, the little Dutch couple has had it as well. It's hard to keep up a brave front when the white stuff just doesn't stop.

Early spring ... really?
So this is what an early spring looks like?
Really? Really, Punxsutawney Phil?
If you ask me, this is getting to be a bit old. It's March, it's almost St. Patrick's Day.
Heck, spring starts for real in a few days!
Enough!
It may look pretty, but please!!!
KEEP THINKING SPRING!

Call ... Souderton Area ... maybe?
Have you checked out Souderton Area High School's rendition of "Call Me Maybe"?
It's pretty entertaining...
Dial it up and check it out...
So what's your call -- award worthy?

Spring forward, darn it!
Fall back, spring forward. Change your smoke detector batteries.
Yes, it's already that time of year, so before you hit the sack tonight, turn those clocks ahead one hour.
Unless, of course, all of your clocks automatically make the change.
Mine don't. Including my car. Hey, tomorrow it finally will boast the correct time again, since I never did get around to changing it after "falling back."
So here we go with Daylight Saving Time. I never really understood why we had to make this switch twice a year. Yes, I know the background on it. And I know people love having more daylight in the evening during the summer.
And, somehow, it's supposed to save us money.
I don't really buy that, but who am I to argue?
I can remember hearing year after year from a former colleague, too, how we don't lose an hour of sleep in the spring or gain an hour in the autumn. I got tired of listening to his droning after awhile, but I still think I will lose an hour of snoozing tonight.
I'm sure no one cares that I hate this twice-a-year ritual, so I just have to go along.
Spring forward.
Let's all try to remember.
OK, Snoopy?

Marching on...
Feeling a little grouchy about the cold, gray, snowy weather?
Yep, getting up this morning and seeing a bit of the white stuff was a downer.
The weather forecasters are promising us a warm and wonderful weekend, with a week ahead that also is supposed to be snow-free.
Will they be right this time? I hope so, but then I remind myself of all the snow they predicted earlier this week.
As for me, I am very ready for spring. Nursing a sinus infection, taking antibiotics and plowing through box after box of tissues while feeling like a truck hit me has left me more than a bit weary.
So bring on spring.
Please!
I would be just fine with Friday's snow being the last of this season...

False alarm?
It is always interesting to see how the local TV stations and the Weather Channel react to approaching doom whenever a major storm is predicted to hit.
This morning, local stations started early, at 4 a.m., to cover the catastrophic snowstorm that was bearing down on this area. We were warned to hunker down, as anywhere from 2 to 10 inches of snow, depending on which person was speaking, might bury us.
The wind certainly tore through the area, but as the day wore on, many of us were wondering just what had happened to all that white stuff.
By the time I got around to tuning in during the late afternoon, many weather personalities seemed devastated ... the snow might not hit us, or at least not to the extent that they had predicted.
I don't know what may greet us when we roll out of bed Thursday morning. Maybe the storm will change course yet again and we'll all be shoveling. Perhaps we'll dodge a bullet yet again, which I would prefer -- not gonna lie.
I can't control the weather so I'm not going to worry about it.
Think I'll take Marmi's approach... Just curl up and not think about what might happen.

Welcome March !
Well, we've turned another page on the calendar.
It's March, nearly a month since that infamous groundhog promised us an early spring.
And even though we haven't been buried in snow ... yet ... we haven't exactly been basking in sunshine, either.
Take today, for instance...
Yes, another mostly gray day. When I left work shortly after 2 p.m., you could see a small patch of blue off in the distance. But we also found ourselves being pelted by a snow/rain mixture for about 10 minutes.
Welcome to March!
So March didn't exactly roar in like a lion, and it wasn't really as warm and fuzzy as a lamb. But there really wasn't too much to complain about, either. It just would be nice to see the sun for an extended period of time.
Of course Spring Mountain Ski Area -- that little patch of white you see off in the distance in the photo below -- probably would beg to differ!
As for Domino and Wotsit, well, they'll just keep snuggling close to fend off that chill. Hey, spring will soon be here, right Punxsutawney Phil?
